This package is designed for puppies and dogs 6 months old and up, who have never learned, or need to brush up on the everyday cues that make the family’s life easier. In addition to learning how to better communicate with your dog, this package will help you learn how to make his life more enriching. Training focuses especially on mental and physical exercise techniques, to burn his energy and help him settle in the house with his family.
Prerequisite: 6+ months old, must be able to settle in a crate, no human/animal aggression, pre-boarding consultation.

This package is designed for puppies and dogs who have some training experience, to learn how to walk at their handler’s side on neighborhood walks. Walks are designed for mental and physical exercise, and as an enjoyable bonding experience for the dog and their family. Using harnesses for leash walking is recommended for safety and comfort; prong, choke, and shock collars will never be used. Off-leash heeling is practiced in fenced areas, but due to leash laws, all neighborhood walks will be on leash.
Due to the weather, this package is not available in the months of July and August.

This package is designed for dogs who bark/growl/lunge at other dogs when they’re on leash walks in the neighborhood. The goal of the package is to be able to walk past other dogs in the neighborhood calmly, and without barking or lunging. Harnesses are recommended for safety and comfort; aversive training equipment, such as prong, choke, or shock collars, will never be used. Off-leash play with other dogs may be possible, but teaching appropriate play skills is not the focus of this package.

Your dog will learn a variety of different energy outlets to give you tools to help burn his physical energy, as well as a variety of different mental enrichment techniques to tire his brain as well, resulting in a more relaxed and content dog at home! The goal is to find games and exercises that take only a few minutes to complete, but leave your dog tired afterward.

Training will focus on behaviors that are most important in places with distractions, behaviors such as heeling, leave it, stay, settle, friendly greetings of strangers, ignoring other animals, walking next to a shopping cart, etc. Outings will include places such as hardware stores, pet stores, pet-friendly retail stores, patio restaurants, etc., as well as no-pets-allowed locations such as restaurants, movie theaters, etc. for service dogs in training. Training will include 4-5 outings per week, and obedience training between outings.
This package is required for jump-starting service dog public work. Starting a dog off on the right “paw” in public will save months of training time in the long run.
